EW: Mike Birbiglia festival fave Don't Think Twice sets July premiere date

Mike Birbiglia's film about an improv comedy troupe is laughing its way into theaters this summer. Don't Think Twice which had a breakout debut at this year's South by Southwest Film Festival, will premiere in New York on July 22 followed by a nationwide release, the film's distribution company, The Film Arcade, announced earlier this week.

Don't Think Twice is written and directed by Birbiglia, who also stars in the movie, and boasts NPR personality Ira Glass as a producer. Along with Birbiglia, the cast includes comedic actors Keegan-Michael Key, Charlie Brinke, Chris Gethard, Tami Sagher, and Kate Micucci. It follows a popular New York City improv troupe after one of the members graduates to greater fame, leaving the rest to struggle with the realization that all of them might not make it in the world of comedy.

Ahead of its July 22 release, Birbiglia will embark on a 20-city "Improv Across America" bus tour to promote the film. The tour will include pop-up screenings of Don't Think Twice, appearances by Birbiglia and special guests, and free improv workshops.
